Friction Rock Bolt
- -Friction Rock Bolt, made from a strip of high-tensile steel, is roll-formed into a C-shape featuring a longitudinal slot for engagement. Designed with one end tapered to simplify insertion into a drill hole, the opposite end is securely welded to a ring that anchors the bearing plate.
- -Thermal diffusion galvanizing is available for the friction bolt.
- -Usually combined with domed plates, provides anchoring force for rock strata.
- -Friction Rock Bolt undergoes very stringent tensile testing to ensure product quality.
Friction Rock Bolt Functions
Split Set is a frictional ground support system. When friction bolt is inserted into drilling hole with smaller diameter, the slot partially closes and bolt diameter is compressed, which creates radial forces on rock roof surface along the whole length and firmly holds the rock.

How to work
Begin by assessing the ground conditions.
Select the appropriate bit and bore a hole, considering the bolt's diameter, length, and the recommended drilling method.
Ensure that the hole's length exceeds the friction bolt's length by at least 150mm.
Attach a plate to the friction bolt, aligning the dome with the ring and positioning the tapered end forward.
Install the friction bolts in a perpendicular orientation to the rock surface.
Insert the driver dolly into the bolt and drive it into the hole until the plate firmly contacts the rock surface.
Avoid striking the friction bolt once the plate is securely attached to the rock to prevent damage.
After installation, perform pull tests to verify the initial anchoring effectiveness of the friction bolts.
