Split Set Ground Control
- -Split Set Ground Control, made from a strip of high-tensile steel, is roll-formed into a C-shape featuring a longitudinal slot for engagement. Designed with one end tapered to simplify insertion into a drill hole, the opposite end is securely welded to a ring that anchors the bearing plate.
- -Thermal diffusion galvanizing is available for the friction bolt.
- -Usually combined with domed plates, provides anchoring force for rock strata.
- -Split Set undergoes very stringent tensile testing to ensure product quality.
Split Set Ground Support Functions
Split Set is a frictional ground support system. When friction bolt is inserted into drilling hole with smaller diameter, the slot partially closes and bolt diameter is compressed, which creates radial forces on rock roof surface along the whole length and firmly holds the rock.
Split Set Ground Support Features&Advantages
Constructed from durable, high-strength steel banding.
Provides instant frictional support both axially and radially.
Capable of standalone support without the need for a plate.
Designed for straightforward installation.
Features a straightforward design that is economical.
Options include a black finish, cold galvanizing, or hot-dip galvanization for versatility.

How to work
Begin with an evaluation of the ground conditions to determine suitability.
Choose the right drill bit and bore a hole to match the bolt's diameter and length, following the specified drilling technique. Ensure the drilled hole is at least
150mm longer than the length of the friction bolt.
Attach a plate to the friction bolt, making sure the dome faces the ring and the tapered end is oriented forward.
Position the friction bolts so they are aligned perpendicular to the rock surface.
Use a driver dolly to insert into the bolt, then drive the friction bolt into the prepared hole until the plate firmly contacts the rock surface.
Once the plate is tightly affixed to the rock, refrain from hitting the friction bolt to avoid damaging its end.
Perform pull tests after the installation to assess the initial anchorage strength of the friction bolts.
